This course provides foundational cybersecurity awareness training aligned with the U.S. Coast Guard’s 2025 Cybersecurity Rule. Designed specifically for personnel working in towboat and tugboat operations, the course introduces practical strategies for recognizing, responding to, and preventing cyber threats that could disrupt vessel systems, compromise safety, or affect shore-based coordination.
Participants will learn how cyber incidents occur, including tactics like phishing, malware, and unauthorized access, and will develop an understanding of their role in maintaining secure maritime operations. Emphasis is placed on compliance with regulatory expectations, incident reporting, and integrating cybersecurity best practices into daily workflows on the water and in the office.
